Sunday Fun day ! Change of plans ! We should’ve been on the 8 AM train with our bikes heading to lake Lugano in the Italian part of Switzerland but the universe had other plans. Firstly, I cut my finger three days ago, which was already going to be tricky bike riding but I was going to manage .Then last night I had to take Chéri to the emergency.We got in the car and I realized the petrol light 🙈was on so we had to stop and get some petrol.😜Then Chéri had forgotten his glasses so we had to pop back home for those.Luckily not a super emergency. He is recovering today 😅and everything including my finger is ok.For whatever reason we were not meant to go on our getaway. No rest for the wicked it’s back to work I go !! Draw a Bird Day is celebrated every year on April 8. My friends kids were bored and I suggested we all draw a bird and I told them it was draw a bird day.They unanimously said “we can’t draw a bird.” Well I beg to differ and they drew really cute birds.💛⭐️Two Chicks and a Flamingo .🐥🐥🦩They we’re having so much fun that I joined them and painted Penny Hen ! IKEA HACK I think this chair came with Chéri when he moved in a few years ago.I may have been a bit bossy as to what he was allowed to put on display. No you may not hang your soccer scarves in the living room!! We did use it but it was very stained and it ended up floating around the shed and then I put it outside on the side of the road with “Free” sign bit somehow it just kept hanging around. So 2023 I decided I was going to paint it and show all you lovelies how you can simply paint over stained fabric 😅😂😂🤣Noice ! So originally the rabbit was for Chinese Year of the rabbit but it’s taken two months to photograph it so now it’s perfect for Easter . I painted this lampshade last week on my live and to be completely honest I wasn’t very organized and it was a last minute idea .As I was painting there was a point where I I knew my viewers would be skeptical because it looked like a child was painting it .In the process of creating art, there is often and ugly stage, the backdrop and building up of layers. Can you believe it only cost around thirty eight francs to paint this wall.I used 3 wall paint tester pots and there is even a bit left in each tin. This tip really works !! The top was cracked and I knew the Veneer needed to go but sanding was going to be a huge mission .Instead I left a wet towel on top of the Veneer overnight .It had all bubbles by the next day and I was easily able to rip it off .More time for the fun part of painting ! #furnitureupcyclers #recycledfurniture #mycreativelife #gettingcrafty #diyfurniture

Being an artist is not just about painting the furniture.First you’ve got to find the piece to paint.Then clean and perhaps sand it .Take off the hardware.Paint, paint, stencil, stamp , paint, gold leaf , paint .Wax !! I’ve just had the best day with this crazy bunch 👩‍🎨. I have gone a bit pumpkin Mad this month but it’s such a great canvas and I am “the mad cow “🤣. We discovered a great tip when we were experimenting with our decorative moulds……..To make our castings we used a hot glue gun! These silicon moulds can be used in so many different ways to add personality to your home.    Use them to add interest to furniture and up cycling projects They can be used with a variety of mediums such as modelling clay, Plaster of Paris and resin. Any of you kids want to use a glue gun 🤪😜😝🤨 Once your hot glue gun has warmed up, just squeeze the glue straight into the mould. Watch your fingers !! Once dry, pop it out of the mould and paint .
